The base of this dessert is a spice cake mix with the addition of vanilla pudding. The cake is layered with bananas, caramel and fresh pudding.
Grease and flour 2 8 or 9 inch layer pans and set aside. Combine 1 pudding mix and milk, beat mixture until well blended, then refrigerate. Add water, oil, eggs, 1/2 cup crushed walnuts and one small box of pudding mix to spice cake mix. Bake at 345 degrees for 30-35 minutes, until edge of cake pulls away from edge of pan. Turn out onto a cooling rack covered with waxed paper to cool. Slice horizontally through bottom layer and drizzle with a layer of caramel then bannana slices and previously prepared pudding mixture. Sprinkle with a few crushed walnuts, replace layer and repeat steps. Top cake with a whippped topping of your choice. Keep chilled.
