Ground beef and smoked sausage are seasoned perfectly and mixed with three cheeses and fresh vegetables. Everything is baked in a yeast roll.
Divide rolls into 2 groups of 12 each and defrost but do not let rise. Season ground meat and saute with onions and peppers then remove to cool. In the same skillet, saute sausage with mushrooms and jalapeno. Remove to cool when done. Mix with ground meat mixture when both are cool. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out each batch of bread into a long rectangle. Divide meat mixture in half and place one half in center of bread then cover with 1/2 of cheese mixture. Starting on the long side of bread, fold sides up and together, pinching together where they meet along the length of the bread, forming a loaf. Ensure the loaf does not leak. Bake until bread is golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let cool on rack and slice in 1 inch slices. Makes 2 loaves and may be frozen and thawed and heated later.
