Two classic flavors in one pie--fresh cherries with almond paste and a touch or almond flavored liqueur.
Place cherries and next 4 ingredients, in a bowl; allow mixture to sit 1/2 hour. Strain water from tapioca and add to cherry mixture. Spray a 9 inch pie pan with nonstick oil then line with one crust. Sprinkle almond paste over bottom crust. Pour cherry mixture into pie crust and top with another ready made crust. Make slits on top to vent pie. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, reduce temperture to 350 degrees and bake 30-40 minutes until crust is golden.
