A dusting of sugar before baking gives these crisp peanut butter cookies a delicate sheen.
Cream together butter, shortening and peanut butter. Add sugars and cream together then add both eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking cocoa, salt and baking soda. Add flour mixture, in thirds, to peanut butter mixture until fully incorporated, then add chocolate. Roll rounded tablespoons of dough in sugar and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Notes from the Cook: These cookies are especially good when still warm and the little bits of chocolate are melted.
