This delightful fall dessert brings together two favorites in pumpkin and chocolate. This tart is festive and delicious.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place chocolate wafers in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Measure out 1 cup crumbs. Place pecans in food processor and pulse until finely chopped. In a medium bowl combine wafer crumbs and chopped pecans. Stir in enough melted butter to moisten. Pat mixture into bottom and up sides of a 9 inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Bake crust for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile in a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin, cream, brown sugar, eggs, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice. Pour pumpkin mixture into baked tart crust. Bake 40-50 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean, then cool completely. In a small saucepan, combine chocolate chips and butter over low heat until melted and combined. Pour mixture over pumpkin tart, spreading evenly to sides, then cool completely. Store covered, in refrigerator.
