This cranberry, walnut and marshmallow salad is destined to become a family tradtion--a great make-ahead recipe.
Make Jello according to package directions using 1/2 cup less water and refrigerate. Grind cranberries and walnuts in a grinder. Add sugar to cranberry and walnut mixture to desired sweetness. When Jello is partially set, add to sweetened cranberry and walnut mixture. Stir in miniature marshmallows and chill until firm.

Notes from the Cook: My mother made this dish for us at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She now has Alzheimer's disease so I make this for my brothers, sisters and our children for the holidays. We always remember her serving this to us as we serve it now to our families.
