This dough for this shaped cookie contains melted unsweetened chocolate, and is chilled before baking. The tops of the cookies are slightly "cracked" when baked.
Mix sugar, oil, vanilla and chocolate. Add eggs, one at a time, beating gently just until smooth. Stir together and mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover and refrigerate dough at least 3 hours or longer. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drop dough by teaspoon into powdered sugar and roll to coat balls. Place balls about 2-inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes, or until no indention remains when touched.

Notes from the Cook: This is an old recipe, which my dad and I made when I was very little. We have been making these cookies about 20 years or so, and now I make them for my boys.
