Apple Date-Nut Quick Bread

This is a quick bread, that's baked in a bread machine. It uses baking powder and soda, and contains applesauce, cinnamon, dates & walnuts.

Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup oil
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 2/3 cup applesauce
• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
• 1/2 cup chopped dates
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

Place ingredients in pan of bread machine in order listed, adding dates and nuts at the designated time, if you wish. Select quick bread setting and push to start. Check batter after 5 minutes and push dough down from sides, if necessary. When done, remove pan from machine and cool on rack for 20 minutes; remove bread from pan and finish cooling. Makes 10 slices.
