Burgers with barbecue sauce, onions, bacon and cheese--is your mouth watering yet?
Burgers: Brush onions with BBQ sauce and broil until tender, about 5 minutes per side. Chop bacon and combine with ground round. Divide hamburger mixture into four patties. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill until cooked through, about 6 minutes per side. Stack patties on buns, onions on patties and top with a generous amount of roquefort sauce and final bun. ROQUEFORT SAUCE Crumble the roquefort cheese, then combine it with the lowfat mayonnaise, vinegar and hot pepper sauce.
Number of Servings: 4
Notes from the Cook: The beef bacon combination, sauce, and onions can be prepared ahead of time. Just store in the fridge. At meal time, bring the sauce and onions to room temperature, grill the patties and assemble. Left-over roquefort sauce makes an excellent topping for veggies, baked potatoes or steaks.
