Black Magic Cake

A sinful chocolate tort cake that is flavored with strong coffee - watch out!

Ingredients:

• 2 C sugar
• 1-3/4 C flour
• 3/4 C cocoa
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 eggs
• 1 C strong black coffee (or 2 tsp instant + 1 C boiling water)
• 1 C buttermilk
• 1/2 C vegetable oil
• 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Grease & flour 2 9"round pans or a 13x9x2 pan. In large mixing bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs, coffee, and buttermilk, oil, vanilla. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer (2 minutes) (BATTER WILL BE THIN). Pour in prepared pans. Bake 30-35 minutes for round pans. Bake 35-40 minutes for rectangular pans. Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pans onto wire racks. Cool completely. Frost if desired.
