A traditional, delicate fried bread that can be served many different ways.

Ingredients:

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients. Gradually add enough milk to hold dough together. Knead for 3 minutes. Heat 1 inch of oil in skillet until hot. Tear a piece of dough about the size of a large walnut off and pat between hands to make a round about a quarter inch thick. Poke hole in the center drop to keep from puffing. Drop into hot oil brown and turn. Drain. Serve plain or with honey. May also shake in a bag with cinnamon and sugar. May also serve topped with chili, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, olives and onions for "Indian tacos"

Number of Servings: 8

Notes from the Cook: This is a traditional recipe used by many in my Native American family.
