Buttermilk Pie

This old-fashioned Southern dessert resembles chess pie. Serve it topped with fresh berries.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 3 heaping tsp. flour
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1/2 cup butter, cut up
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1 frozen piecrust (deep dish)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together. Pour into piecrust. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Number of Servings: 6-8

Notes from the Cook: This recipe has been in our family for years. I usually bake 5 or more at Christmas so everyone can take some home with them...otherwise it's a fight for the last piece! Although I hate buttermilk, I love this pie...a must!
